Sydney!

We are at Taronga zoo today, woo-hoo!

Red Nose Day Card

I can't believe I forgot to show you the projects everyone made at Friday night's fundraiser! Sadly I only have a photo of the one I designed/prepped. I'll have to show the rest to you when I get back from Sydney. This card is actually a CASE of the cover of the catalogue! Look familiar?
Did I mention I'm in Sydney? We are having a lovely week here with the kids. My clever husband got an amazing deal on a three bed, 2 bath serviced apartment in the heart of the city! Yesterday we walked around Darling Harbour and Chinatown, and Paddy's Markets. Today we will probably go to the zoo.
Have a great week! I may pop back in with holiday snaps, but we shall see.

Happy Stampers!

There is something very therapeutic about papercrafting with friends; a laugh and chat while creating plus coffee and cake, sounds perfect!

Red nose day!

I'll post more throughout the evening! You can still donate ( see my earlier post)

Happy New Baby!

I made this card for a family from school who recently had a gorgeous new baby boy. I've done a variation on this theme previously, but this stamp set is such a classic baby set I can't go past it! Gotta run, I have to deliver it to the class coordinator now!

School Fete goodies

Earlier this week I got together with Michelle (see her blog on my
sidebar) and Renee (who is blogless so far!) and we made these pretty
pictures to sell at the Fete next month. I had some core'dinations
cardstock in my stash from 2 years ago (it feels good not to be
wasteful ) and I used some old Cuttlebug embossing folders in my Big
Shot to emboss them. I then used my sanding block to distress the
cardstock and highlight the design. Finally I punched put hearts with
my gorgeous big heart punch (SU!) and arranged them on whisper white
cardstock and adhered them with dimensionals. We did lots of
different frames, butterflies and stars, and Renee hand cut
surfboards. They looked great!

Edited to mention the frame - it came from Myer in a boxed set

New Week, New Deal of the Week!

Wow!  Check out these savings!

On another note, I have 3 sick children home today, but I do intend to try to post some photos of some lovely projects.  Whether I succeed, is another thing!

Be back later (I hope!)

Boyz 2 Men last card!

This one used the adorable robot from Lots of Bots (from the current
mini available until the end of August). I also used the circle
scissor to make the circle shape, eyelets and I roughed up the edges
too. Sanded makes another appearance as well.

I will be running this class again tomorrow night if any one is
interested and I still have a few spaces left.

I hope you enjoyed these!

Boyz 2 Men card 4

This one uses "Wanted" which is a great cowboy themed set. The
background stamp "Sanded" also gives some texture and roughs it up a
little. The spiral punch gives a fun filmstrip look.

Boyz 2 Men card 3

This one was so fun to make! The little beer mug is from "cheers to
you" and we used liquid appliqué for the foam, then covered the glass
in crystal effects to look like glass. Fun! Crystal effects doesn't
take long to dry. I thought the circles in the background looked like
condensation rings from a cold mug of beer! That stamp is from Circle
Circus again.

Boyz 2 Men card 2

The ever- versatile Circle Circus works perfectly here (that stamp set
is such a workhorse!) for a male birthday. Nothing too fancy here but
I did use the large eyelets, and linen thread which add a nice
"masculine" texture.

Boyz 2 Men class today

Here is one of the cards we did today -I am posting from my iPhone
while waiting in the pick up line for the girls we carpool with, so I
will post each card seperately ( sorry about that!).

I used the same colour scheme of Not Quite Navy, Tangerine Tango and
Kiwi Kiss for all the cards and I must say I love this combo!

This one also uses the star wheel and you'll notice the large star
punch coordinates perfectly with it.

I told you so....

When I'm right, I'm right.  Remember back here when I predicted that the retiring colours will be "while stocks last?"  Stampin' Up!  has just announced to us Demonstrators that some of the retiring products are already on backorder and will only be available as stocks last.
Clearly I have untapped psychic powers.
So the moral of the story is:  Don't wait to order your reinkers or cardstock in your favourite retiring colours!
Of course, there will be lots of NEW yummy colours to choose from in September, and I must admit I'm getting excited about seeing them in real life!

Oops better dash - school run, etc.

I'm baaaa-ack!

I must apologise for my lack of posts since Convention - I was pretty wiped out after such a big weekend, and then hit the ground running when I returned home as I hosted my 40th birthday party the next weekend, husband went away for work, four kids and their various after school activities, and the school fete is getting closer so there was work to do there.  Finally, the Red Nose Day Fundraiser to organise!  I feel like I'm being pulled in about 5 different directions at the moment, but then again, I love to be busy!

I have been meaning to post pictures of the gorgeous hand made cards I received for my birthday (over a week ago now!), so here they are, finally:

Gotta feed the Gang of Four, I'll be back later to tell you who made these gorgeous things!  Wasn't I spoiled?
Edited to add:  Top row L-R:  Bec O'Gorman, Bec O'Gorman (not a birthday card, but I included it anyway), Karen Thomas;  Middle Row L-R:  Karen Thomas (again, not a birthday card!), Amanda Saffery, Bec's beautiful Mum;   Bottom Row:  Jan  McAnulty and can you believe this is a shop-bought card?  I've included it because I am sure I can CASE it.
A challenge - can you make a shoe card?  Leave me a comment if you manage it.

New deals of the week

I have linked the title of my post to my Stampin' Up! website so you can see the great weekly promotions we are running - Deals of the Week!  Make sure to let me know if you wish to take advantage of it.

Also - my diary is filling up pretty quickly, so if you have a long wishlist and want to hold a workshop at your home so you can earn free products then let me know!  A workshop at home is a fun way to introduce some friends who are new to papercrafting to a new hobby or just enjoy some "girl time".
