What you Missed - One Card, 3 Ways

Last night we had fun with a Stamp Set you can earn for FREE !

Stamps:  Botanicals For You (SAB). Paper:  Very Vanilla, Pumpkin Pie, Watermelon Wonder, Confetti Cream (retired)  Ink:  Watermelon Wonder, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Delightful Dijon, Memento Black.  Other:  Big Shot, Ovals Framelits, Embossing Folders, Small Flower Punch, Adhesive Pearls, Stampin' Dimensionals, Snail adhesive, Wink of Stella clear glitter pen.

We used the Wink of Stella clear glitter pen to create a gorgeous subtle sparkle on the letters.  It didn't photograph well, but in real life it is very pretty!
Let me know if you'd like to come to my next class - in March.  I'll post details as soon as I can.

What you missed: OSW Class

This class was a bit of a throwback - we made a One Sheet Wonder.  I last did a OSW class back in 2009!   What is a OSW?   This is when you stamp one A4 sheet of Whisper White cardstock with whatever stamps you like, in whichever colours you fancy, and you then cut up that stamped sheet according to a template (the one I used is from Mae Collins).   You then have the basis for 9 different cards.

These are the cards we made on the night - we only had time for 3 cards, but everyone took home the template and supplies to make the rest at home.

When I was planning this class, I made up a bunch of other samples to show how different the results can look just by changing up your colours and the stamps you use.    It is a great way to fill your card box, or throw together a set of cards as a gift.

A:  a "masculine" group using The Open Sea, blues and Early Espresso.
B:  A "girly" group using butterflies from Butterfly Basics and Watercolour Wings, and a palette of purples, pinks and greens.
C:  A "Heart" set using products from the Occasions Mini and a palette of Mint Macaron, Blushing Bride and Rose Red.

You could easily make up the base cards and make up a bunch of sentiments (Happy Birthday, Sympathy, etc) to apply to your card when you are ready to send it to someone.

The hardest part is deciding which stamps and colours to use!  I found that limiting my colours to 2-3 made it easier to pull together the set.  This is one project where preparation is a time saver.  If you have card bases ready in the 2-3 colours, extra cardstock for the mats, a selection of sentiment stamps, a few ribbons, and a couple of punches or framelits ready before you start, it makes it much quicker.

Why not give this a try yourself?  Have a look through your stash and see which sets might work well.  Be sure to visit Mae Collin's blog (linked above) for her template and some inspiration.

Here's what I used - note a couple of the ribbons are retired unfortunately.

Getting closer....

It's nearly that time of year, where the retirement list comes out.  That means the in-colours we've loved the past 2 years are leav...
