Balloon Bash Birthday

Here are the third and fourth cards from the previous post.

I must admit I almost didn't get this set because I have heaps of birthday stamps already....but I'm glad I did!
The confetti stamp is perfect for backgrounds - and I love the font used in the words, too.  Here's a simple card using a Crisp Cantaloupe base (another colour it has taken me a while to love, better late than never!).
Easy to make:  round the corners of your Crisp Cantaloupe card base, and stamp the confetti randomly with Bermuda Bay ink.  Stamp the "HB" stamp twice on Whisper White card in Bermuda Bay ink.  Cut out the second  HB and mount it with Dimensionals over the first one.  Mount it onto a piece of Bermuda Bay card and affix to the card.  Adhere a few sequins with Tomboy liquid glue.

Another simple card to make - I used  a  Basic Black Stampin' Write marker to colour in the balloon strings, and cut out the balloons.  The pretty coloured rhinestones are just our ordinary clear adhesive rhinestones coloured with my (now retired) Blendibilities.

A completely different card made with the same stamp set - I love a set you can mix and match with other elements you own and can make it look totally different.

Only a few days left of Sale-A-Bration people!  Don't miss out!

Fab 4

It's almost the end of March - which means the end of Sale-a-Bration is nearly here!  Don't miss your chance to get yummy free product with every $90 you spend!
I recently did a workshop at my lovely customer Sarah's place and she requested a "Tween" card - here are four designs that I made while trying to come up with a project.  I like them all, but they weren't the right fit for the workshop.  I'll dhow you what we did make in the next post.
My children tell me they like these cards - whew! - so I'll be making a couple of multiples for my sample box as they raid it whenever they have a birthday party to go to!
First card:  I love that the Chalkboard Trend is still around!  I think this card is very girly, but you could easily make it less so by swapping the Melon Mambo for a blue, and swapping the doily for a few strips of washi tape or something.
Stamps:  Balloon Bash Paper:  Melon Mambo A4 cardstock, Tea Lace Doily, Chalkboard Paper, Ink:  Melon Mambo Classic Ink, Rose Chalk Ink.  Other: Big Shot, Banner Framelit Dies, Paper Snips, Dimensionals, SNAIL adhesive.
Here's the how-to

Project Recipe:

  1. Create your background by randomly stamping the confetti image from Balloon Bash in Melon Mambo ink on your Melon Mambo card base.
  2. Stamp the "I Made This" stamp with Rose Chalk Ink twice on the Chalkboard Cardstock - be sure to stamp on the right side. The right side is coated with the chalkboard surface - you'll see what I mean! You will use the banner part of the second image.
  3. Using the Banner frame lit that best fits the image (I think it was the second-largest one, but I am not sure), cut out your image. Using paper snips, cut out the banner of the second image you stamped.
  4. Assemble your card: take a Tea Lace Doily and arrange it behind the banner piece - you may need to trim it a little across the top to fit it behind the banner. Adhere with SNAIL.
Adhere the "just for you" banner piece using Dimensionals.
    Admire your beautiful card!

Second Card:  This was pretty simple - I made a background with Washi Sheets and my circle punches, then coloured the stamp with Markers and cut it out with my Circle frame lit, and Big Shot.
Stamps:  Big News, Paper:  Birthday Bash Designer Washi Paper Sheets, Whisper White A4 Cardstock, Smokly Slate A4 Cardstock, Hello Honey A4 card stock; ink:  Stampin' Writer Markers, Other:  Circle Framelit and Big Shot; circle Punches.

I will show you the other two cards next post!

What am I supposed to do now?

In case you haven't heard, Stampin' Up!  has made the tough decision to discontinue the Blendabilities range of alcohol-based ink markers.  They were experiencing consistency issues with the manufacturer, and had to decide to pull them from our product line.  What will you use to colour now they are no longer available to use?  Well, here are some suggestions.

Getting closer....

It's nearly that time of year, where the retirement list comes out.  That means the in-colours we've loved the past 2 years are leav...
