Loving chalk talk

You know how matchy-matchy stamps and framelits make my heart go pitter-pat?  Here is something I made recently with the Chalk Talk stamp set and matching framelits.  I know I've been using them a lot lately!  I also used Mosaic Madness and the matching embossing folder, and DSP.  I know, matchy-matchy.  It's a sickness!

My inner art student

I was feeling inspired on the weekend by some gorgeous cards I'd seen where a simple ink-washed background was the star of the show.

So I pulled out my watercolour paper, my reinkers, my aquapainter, and had fun playing.  The only thing I don't like is having to wait for my "painting" to dry before I make a card!  This is a fun technique and requires no artistic training, I assure you.

Stamps:  Chalk Talk, Paper:  Smoky Slate, Whisper White, Watercolour Paper.  Ink:  Pacific Point, Rich Razzleberry, Tempting Turquoise reinkers; Other:  Big Shot, framelits, Rich Razzleberry ribbon, Wide Oval Punch, Dimensionals, aquapainter, spritzer

I'm loving the new, soft grey colour Smoky Slate.  It's the perfect grey. Balances the bright colours above as well as the more subtle colours used below.

Stamps:  Chalk Talk, Paper:  Crisp Cantaloupe, Smoky Slate, Watercolour Paper; Ink:  Smoky Slate, crisp cantaloupe, soft sky, so saffron reinkers; Other:  Big Shot, Framelits, aquapainter, spritzer

To make these, all I did was spritz my watercolour paper with water, add a few drops of reinker, and spread the ink using my aquapainter.  You could use a plain old paintbrush for this too.  This would be fun to try with your children if you were stuck indoors on a rainy day.  You could also try scribbling on the watercolour paper with a Stampin' Marker then spritzing; or if you have the (sadly) now retired watercolour pencils or crayons, you could experiment with them.

Then I assembled my cards, keeping it simple by just adding the sentiment from Chalk Talk stamped in Smoky Slate and cut out with the Chalk Talk Framelits (LOVE them).

I think using a mini easel to photograph them makes them look like little artworks, don't you?

Here's a card (looks like I CASE'd it without realising!) Shelli showed us at Convention in May:
This is by Shelli Gardner  and you can see it on her blog So Shelli

Launch Recap, Part 2

Rebecca O'Gorman, my Stampin' Sister, designed the next two cards:

Stamps:  By the Tide; Hello, Lovely
Other:  Hexagon Embossing Folder, Big Shot
Isn't she talented? love the pop of sparkle and splash of Cherry Cobbler against the Crumb Cake card base.  I have only just purchased By The Tide, although it was in last year's catalogue - I keep seeing so many gorgeous cards made with it!
Stamps:  Happy Day
Other:  Mosaic Embossing Folder; Paper Doily, Butterfly Bigz Die, Butterfly Punch, Big Shot
The new mosaic embossing folder is so elegant.  Wouldn't this card be gorgeous for a wedding card?

Lovely Launch Day

We had a lovely day yesterday at the Banyo Bowls Club.  Bec O'Gorman, Steph Pike, Linda Craven and I hosted a New Catalogue Launch for about 70 of our customers.  We had all our retired products out for sale, and displays of new product, as well as lucky door prizes and a raffle.

We designed 8 cards for our customers to make, and I'll be showing them each day on the blog.

Meanwhile, here are some pictures to show you what you missed:

The retired products were popular with our customers who have an eye for a bargain!  Plenty were sold, but there are still some things left, so let me know if you are are in the market for some retired products.

Some of my lovely downlines and customers!

My lovely assistant, Thing 1, helped out during the day.

My lovely Downline Kath Rowe, and her friend Nerida.

Even we Demonstrators can't resist checking out the bargains!

More of my lovely ladies - Claudia, Vicki, Jenny and Wendy.
 And now for the cards!

I designed two cards using the Tag It stamp set, which is the stamp set which raises money for Ronald McDonald House Charities, which is, as you no doubt know, an excellent cause.

This one is a birthday card, and it also has a bit of washi tape on it:

And this one is obviously a Christmas card - I know it sounds crazy, but I really need to get started soon!

You can find Tag It on page 45 of the new Catalogue, and looky, it co-ordinates with a cute new Framelit set:

What's not to love?

2013-2014 Catalogue is here!

It's finally here!

Our website may not be fully functioning until noon today, but you can browse the catalogue online HERE  or download a PDF (save it in iBooks on your iPad).

Getting closer....

It's nearly that time of year, where the retirement list comes out.  That means the in-colours we've loved the past 2 years are leav...
