2 Steps into fabulous, Dahling!

I can't say (or type) the word "fabulous" without thinking of the cult TV show "Absolutely Fabulous".  Remember?




Anyway, I have found a few more examples of cards made with the sets that are featured in the current special:

 I'll post a different set each day.
Here are some cards made with Cheep Talk - some of them were NOT handmade by Lou, they were handmade by Barb Douglas, my wildly talented friend who is alas, blogless at this time.

 This is a Christmas card Barb made - isn't she clever?  The baubles are from Circle Circus.

The pear card on the bottom left here was also made by Barb.  Isn't this a cute set?  I will warn you, with this set, as with most 2-step stamps, you really need a Stamp-a-ma-jig to align everything perfectly.   Another set tomorrow!

Continuing with the male card theme....

I've been playing with some Father's Day ideas using this cute stamp from Eight Great Greetings. I used Pacific Point - I hardly ever use this colour, but I like how it looks in this combination! The first card is quite simple, just lots of layers:

The second is a slightly stepped up version of the first with brads, ribbon and some playing with markers and cutting out:

Then with the leftover Kiwi kiss I made this:

I used markers to colour the stamp and I really should have made them darker, but I'm happy with the way the branches worked out. This idea has been floating in my head for a while.

I have a few more cards that I don' think I'm allowed to show yet, because they are using some NEW stamps from the NEW Spring Mini, which runs from 1st August - 30th November. Stay tuned kids!

A busy week...

....I've been housebound with two out of four kids sick over the past week, so I haven't been able to update my blog (or see much of my craft room) until now.

I have a couple of things to show you - first I must apologise for the terrible photographs - the lighting looked OK when I was taking them, but now I see them on the computer they look terribly dark, and I don't have Photoshop. Yet, anyway!

Here is a card I've made for a little girl's birthday. Sweet and simple, right?

Here it is again, stepped up by adding punched flowers, cutting out the birdie's body and mounting it on dimentionals, with a glittered wing.

Next here is a gift bag I made (a slightly altered version of Jan Tink's paper tote click here to go to her blog Stamps, Paper, Scissors - she has a PDF with the template) to hold some cards I made for a friend.

And a pretty posy from the Die Cut flowers!

Two More

Yes, I managed to make another photo go sideways - how annoying! If you turn your head to the left, you can see that this card uses Cheep Talk to make a little "scene" and then the big bird from Good Friends is singing Happy Birthday. I love my Stampa-ma-jig! It makes life so much easier. If you are new to my blog or don't know what I'm talking about, see this post about the Stampa-ma-jig.

Here's the Bag-a-lope I made for a little present for my friend's birthday - I also stamped the envelope of the card to tie-in. Hope she likes it! You undo the blue ribbon to open.

Upsy Daisyo

I know - I've got to start thinking up some snappy titles for my posts. But there are days when that just ain't gonna happen. Deal with it.

I have been playing with two more NEW stamp sets - Upsy Daisy and Cheep Talk.

Here's Upsy Daisy - straightforward and simple:

It's a gorgeous silhouette that looks great all on its own. But that doesn't mean we can't play with it!

In these two cards I've coloured the stamp with my markers then spritzed the stamp with water to make the mottled, watercolour look of the image. In the image above I stamped onto whisper white cardstock; in the image below I stamped onto watercolour paper. Can you see the difference?

I think this card needs something on the right side, but I haven't decided what yet. I'll post it again if I decide!

I've been playing with the yummy new Button Latte collection of buttons on those cards above as well. They look good enough to eat!

Finally here's a card using Cheep Talk - it's similar to the Good Friend set and coordinates with the Good Morning Sunshine DSP as well. I can see many possibilities for this set!
